PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for mounting an assisting handle for a wheelchair by which the height location of the handle can be regulated, and at the same time, the mounted strength of the handle to a back rest pipe is high, and a stable operation can always be obtained. SOLUTION: A handle region 15 with which an attendant performs a manual pushing operation is formed separately from the back rest pipe 14. Then, the handle bar 15 is slidably and turnably fitted in the hollow internal section of the back rest pipe 14, and the handle bar 15 is fixed with a fixing utensil 17.
