PURPOSE: A device for maintaining a closed state of a drawer type washing machine and a method for controlling the same are provided to realize a washing tube to be opened or closed like a drawer while restraining the opening of the washing tub while the washing machine is operating for preventing the outflow of washing water or the damage or wound of clothing or a user. CONSTITUTION: A device for maintaining a closed state of a drawer type washing machine including a case(2) formed with an opening part at a surface, and a cabinet(4) mounted in the case to be drawn or withdrawn via the opening part and mounted with a washing tub(10) and a driving element inside, includes a tube(3) mounted to a portion where an inner surface of a top part of the case and an upper end of the cabinet contacts each other, thereby restraining the opening of the cabinet, fluid supply elements(11,15) for supplying fluid to the tube for maintaining the closed state of the cabinet, and a control element for determining the operation of the fluid supply elements according to the opened or closed state of the cabinet by using a solenoid valve(7). |
