PURPOSE: To provide a transistor substrate for a liquid crystal display and a method for manufacturing the same by which a liquid crystal display having an organic film provided to the transistor substrate to enhance the performance is produced with a smaller number of manufacturing processes and by which productivity can be enhanced. CONSTITUTION: In the transistor substrate for the liquid crystal display in which a gate electrode 26, a gate insulator 27, a semiconductor layer 19, a source electrode 20 and a drain electrode 21 and a passivation film 28 are stacked in this order on a transparent insulation substrate 25 and which holds a liquid crystal layer 30 between a counter substrate 12, the semiconductor layer 19 under data wiring 18 and the drain electrode 21 and the semiconductor layer 19 under the source electrode 20 are disconnected.
