The variable timing device for reciprocating engines with two cam shafts has a common admission valve (SA). The valve rod (3) is terminated by a piston (4) acted on by a return spring (5). The valve rod slides in a chamber (6) in which two other chambers (7,8) emerge and in which pistons (9,10) slide and which are put in contact with cams (A1,A2) by a spring (11).
