摘要 PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing mill rolls having superior wear resistance and low surface roughness is provided. The mill roll of the present invention is characterized in the 8-9 vol.% of M7C3 carbide is dispersed on the inner surface of the shell part. CONSTITUTION: The method includes the steps of (i) pouring a liquid metal comprising C 2-2.15 wt.%, W 1.0-1.5 wt.%, Mo 2.5-3.5 wt.%, V 4.5-5.5 wt.%, Cr 8-9 wt.%, Si 0.5-1.0 wt.%, Mn 0.3-0.4 wt.%, a balance of Fe and other inevitable impurities into a centrifugal-casting mold to manufacture shell part of the mill roll; (ii) pouring spheroidal graphite cast iron in the centrifugal-casting mold to manufacture core part; (iii) preheating the prepared mill roll in the temperature range of 800-900°C; (iv) carrying out solid solution treatment in the temperature range of 1000-1100°C followed by quenching; and (v) carrying out double or triple tempering treatment in the temperature range of 530-570°C.
