PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general base isolation unit settable on an indefinite supported body or support body besides allowing the base isolation by protecting the smooth surface of a slide guide and exhibiting a restoring force according to the relative displacement of the supported body and the support body. SOLUTION: This base isolation unit comprises the slide guide 1 settable on one side of the supported body B and the support body A and having the flat smooth surface, a slider 2 settable on the other side of the supported body B and the support body A and slid on the smooth surface 15 of the slide guide 1, and an elastic dust preventive cover 3 laid between the slide guide 1 and the slider 2 in a non-contact state to the smooth surface 15 of the slide guide 1 to cover the smooth surface 15 of the slide guide 1, and exhibiting the restoring force according to the relative displacement of the supported body B and the support body A. A groove for locking the dust preventive cover 3 is provided on the periphery of the smooth surface 15 of the slide guide 1 and the circumference of the slider 2, and divided along the laying surface of the dust preventive cover 3 so as to nip and lock the dust preventive cover 3.
