PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stop an external movable body in a random intermediate position in an environment requiring cleanness, and provide a smooth displacement action at a start or a stop of the external movable body. SOLUTION: This linear actuator is provided with a rotary drive source 18, a tube member 20 supported by a supporting rib 52 horizontally extended along a side part 32a of a base member 14, an internal movable body 22 and the external movable body 24 integrally displaced along the tube member 20 under a magnetic bonding effect, a sliding screw shaft 46 connected to a drive shaft 18a of the rotary drive source 18 and transmitting rotary driving force to the internal movable body 22, and a sliding screw nut 48 screwed to the sliding screw shaft 46 and converting rotary motion into linear motion. |
