PURPOSE: To provide a display device and a display method which enable limitation of the resolution information volume of a display picture and thereby improvement in the general picture quality. CONSTITUTION: One field consists of upper sub-field groups and lower sub-field groups, and at least one independent control SF is provided in lower sub-field groups, and the other lower sub-field groups are simultaneously addressed in two lines by the same data. Thus, the address control period is made shorter to produce surplus time, and the surplus time is used to increase the luminance, make a picture multi-level, or reduce the pseudo outside disturbance. |
