The seat belt lock, located inside the seat back, consists of a rigid U-shaped pressure element (4) of metal rod which presses the belt (3) against a grooved shoe (6) as the seat back is moved away from its rest (9) to fold it. When the seat back is upright the pressure element is held away from the belt by the pressure of the rest against its springloaded side-pieces (40).
