PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a GPS data transmitting and receiving system enabling host computers with different voltage levels of communication signals to be connected to GPS equipment. SOLUTION: A reference voltage matching the voltage level of a communication signal is supplied to the host computer 30 via the reference voltage wire 26 of a communication cable 20 and the interface part 15 of the GPS equipment 10 includes a first matching part 15a for causing the voltage level of the communication signal transmitted from a positioning part 14 to match the voltage level of the communication signal of the host computer 30 according to the reference voltage, and a second matching part 15b for causing the voltage level of the communication signal transmitted from the host computer 30 to match the voltage level of the communication signal of the positioning part 14. Not only specific host computers 30 with the voltage levels of their communication signals kept at a predetermined level, as in conventional cases, but also host computers 30 with different voltage levels of communication signals, can be connected to the GPS equipment 10.
