POLYESTER RESIN AQUEOUS DISPERSION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME AND AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin aqueous dispersion having high molecular weight stability, to provide a method for producing the above dispersion, and to provide an aqueous coating composition. SOLUTION: This polyester resin aqueous dispersion is characterized by containing a polyester resin with an acid value of 8-40 mgKOH/g and a weight- average molecular weight of >=9,000 and >0.5 mass% of an organic solvent. The 2nd objective method for producing the polyester resin aqueous dispersion is characterized by comprising the steps of charging an aqueous medium with a polyester resin and a basic compound to make an aqueous modification to first obtain a polyester resin aqueous dispersion containing >=0.5 mass% of the organic solvent and then removing the organic solvent from the aqueous dispersion. The other objective aqueous coating composition is characterized by being obtained by incorporating the final polyester resin aqueous dispersion with a curing agent.
