PROJECTOR HAVING SPATIAL LIGHT MODULATOR AND ITS COOLING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector apparatus which can handle high light intensity and in which the quality of the projected image is not deteriorated by dust or foreign matter intruding into the inside of the apparatus. SOLUTION: A projector apparatus including an SLM(Spatial Light Modulator) equipped with a plurality of SLMs and a prismatic light splitting/combining unit is provided. The SLM unit is enclosed in a substantially sealed chamber. A heat path for cooling each SLM is provided, and the heat path connection passes through the wall of the substantially sealed chamber. In this embodiment, the heat energy from the main heat source inside the sealed chamber is taken out to the outside of the sealed chamber and is dissipated.
