PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a splitting and collecting method of high operability and economy for obtaining in high purity and at high yield an amine compound as the raw material for an isocyanate-based compound with the isocyanate-based compound as the object to be split. SOLUTION: This method for splitting and collecting an isocyanate-based to-be-split compound is characterized by comprising the following process: high- temperature and high-pressure water containing ammonia and/or an aliphatic amine is contacted at 200-290 deg.C with the isocyanate-based to-be-split compound having at least one isocyanate group or a functional group derived therefrom to collect the to-be-split compound as the raw material or a derivative thereof for the above compound.
