摘要 A new multifunctional water soluble copolymer-hydrogel, having high molecular weight and flocculation properties, comprises as active material, in combination with additive(s), cationic copolymer(s) with recurring units of (meth)acrylic acid monomer(s) (I) (MAAA) and recurring units of cationic charged (meth)acrylic acid ester-monomer(s). A new multifunctional water soluble copolymer-hydrogel (CH), having high molecular weight and flocculation properties, comprises as active material cationic copolymer(s) with recurring units of (meth)acrylic acid monomer(s) of formula (I) (MAAA) and recurring units of cationic charged (meth)acrylic acid ester-monomer(s) of formula (II) (MAAE), of one or many different molecular weights of 400,000-3 million, (preferably 500,000-1.5 million) and/or one of many different charge density distributions. The copolymer-hydrogel also comprises partially or completely deionized water, optionally containing heavy metal complexing agent(s) as an immobilized liquid, as well as optionally additive(s) selected from inorganic salts, lower 1-7C organic carboxylic acids, containing organic mercapto compounds and colorants. R1 = H or methyl; R2, R3 = H, optionally branched, optionally OH-substituted 1-3C alkyl; and n1 = 1-3, (preferably 2). An Independent claim is included for preparation of the copolymer-hydrogel comprising introduction into a reactor containing partially or completely deionized water containing heavy metal complexing agent, monomers MAAA (I) and monomers MAAE (II) simultaneously or following each other in the quantity ratio depending on the desired use, at room temperature or a slightly higher temperature, where the pH of the liquid obtained is below 4.0, (preferably 3.0-3.5), established by addition of an organic or inorganic water soluble acid under an inert gas, with occasional or constant stirring, with raising of the temperature of the solution by external heating to 30-90 deg C, (preferably 35-70 deg C), where at 30 deg C a polymerization initiator is added in amount 0.1-2 wt.% to the starting solution, and the mixture obtained is further heated for 10-30 minutes, (preferably 12-20 minutes), the reaction is allowed to proceed, and the CH obtained as reaction product, in order to obtain the desired copolymer concentration, is diluted with partially or completely deionized water or tap water, and drawn off.
