<p>Threshold values for determining outer search limits are determined based on voxel data integration average profiles in left and right lung fields, positions beyond the threshold values are searched for from the centers of the left and right lungs toward the outer sides of respective chest images, and the positions beyond the threshold values are determined as outer search limits; and, when positions beyond the threshold values are not found, primary derivatives of voxel data integration average profiles are determined to check for changes in voxel data in left and right lung fields, positions (P1) where primary derivatives indicate maximum changes within specified search sections are searched for from the centers of the left and right lungs toward the outer sides of respective chest images, positions (P2) where voxel data integration average profiles are maximum values within the specified search sections are searched for, and middle points (P0) between the maximum value positions (P2) and positions (P1) where maximum changes in primary derivatives are indicated are determined as outer search limits.</p> |
