PURPOSE: A device and method for controlling shift of an automatic transmission is provided to reduce shift impact generated in reaccelerating by decreasing an engine torque. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling a shift of an automatic transmission in a vehicle comprises a vehicle travelling state detecting unit(100) inputting a travelling state into a shift controlling unit(200); a throttle valve opening degree detecting unit(110) detecting opening degree of a throttle valve interlocking in operating an acceleration pedal; an output shaft RPM(Revolution Per Minute) detecting unit(120) detecting RPM of an output shaft of an automatic transmission corresponding to vehicle speed; an engine RPM detecting unit(130); an acceleration pedal operation detecting unit(140); an oil temperature detecting unit(150) detecting temperature of automatic transmission oil; a turbine RPM detecting unit(160); and a brake pedal actuation detecting unit(170).
