PURPOSE: A desktop computer is provided to ensure the reliability and the stability of a system by preparing an installation part fixing a compact PCI(Peripheral Component Interconnect) card in a main board. CONSTITUTION: The desktop computer includes a computer casing forming an exterior, a main board(20) preparing in the computer casing, a CPU(22) executing an application program by installing to the main board and a compact PCI card slot(25) installing the compact PCI card having a sound, communication and graphic function linked with the CPU. The main board is equipped with a connector(23) connecting to the CPU, a RAM(21) and a plurality of hardware devices. The compact PCI card has an excellent electric characteristic comparing to the PCI card used for the desktop computer and operates well on a weak environment such as a shock, the vibration, the serious dust and a severe temperature.
