The invention relates to a lock with a latch (32), held in the closed position by means of a detent pawl (36). A tripping device (39) co-operates with the detent pawl (36) and with a safety element (43, 51, 54), which can adopt a working position, permitting a displacement of the detent pawl (36), by a tripping action and a safety position, permitting an idle operation of the tripping device on operation thereof, whereby on switching between the working and the safety position, with a tripping device (39) in the release position thereof, the detent pawl (36) is moved to the released position thereof. The pivot bearing (S) for the tripping device is non-active in the safety position in order to improve the force transmission and the control. |
