PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording unit and an image recorder in which a black image/character of black ink satisfy various performances, e.g. high optical density, high image quality and high image fastness, under coexistence with color inks and an arrangement suitable for an ink set saving ink consumption is provided in the liquid channel. SOLUTION: In an ink set including black ink and color ink, the black ink contains a color material dispersed into an aqueous medium through action of salt, the aqueous medium, and an ionicity group, and at least one color ink has a composition conditioned such that dispersion stability of color material in the black ink is rendered instable when it is mixed with black ink. The ink set is applied to an ink jet head where a cavitation resistant film on a heater contains Ta at a part touching ink and an underlying layer is an amorphous alloy film containing Ta. |
