BIDIRECTIONAL OPTICAL DROPPER-INSERTER

PURPOSE: A bidirectional optical dropper-inserter is provided to drop and insert an optical signal of a specific node in a bidirectional optical transmission system. CONSTITUTION: Circulators(211-214) divide a wavelength-multiplexed optical signal to be progressed in one direction and a wavelength-multiplexed optical signal to be progressed in the other direction. Optical amplifiers(221-224) amplify the strength of the wavelength-multiplexed optical signals divided through the circulators(211-214). Optical droppers(231,232) drop the optical signals with selection wavelengths of the wavelength-multiplexed optical signals received from the optical amplifiers(221-224). Inserting filters(271,272) reflect the optical signals with non-selection wavelengths penetrated through the optical droppers(231,232) and penetrate insertion optical signals inputted to an opposite direction. An optical isolators(281,282) remove the optical noise of the optical signals which are not reflected in the inserting filters(271,272) among the optical signals with the non-selection wavelengths penetrated through the optical droppers(231,232).
