<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve users' convenience and operability when HDTV video data and SDTV video data varying in data quantities are mingled and recorded on an optical disk. SOLUTION: Management regions for managing the recording start positions and tittles of all the contents recorded on the optical disk are previously assured and the respective recording start positions written down in the management information A5 are provided with the detailed information regions of the contents, incidental information regions 6 for recording information to be incidental to the contents and data regions for recording video, speech and caption information 7. While all of the management information and incidental information necessary for reproducing the video signals are recorded by successively recording the incidental information of the contents as one management block 4 by switching of the information, the recording region of the optical disk is effectively recorded and all the content titles are instantaneously presented to the users when the optical disk is inserted. The reutilization of the device is possible even in the even of a power service interruption.</p> |
