PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a method for enciphering processing of credit card information as secures the high secrecy of the credit card information and minimizes the time until the completion of the enciphering from performing of the input operation of the credit card information at a telephone terminal of a credit card settlement type. SOLUTION: The method for enciphering processing for enciphering the credit card information inputted to a telephone terminal the charge of which can be settled by a credit card starts enciphering processing of key information to be used for enciphering the credit card information with a prescribed timing until the completion of the input operation of the credit card information since performing of the off-hook operation of the telephone terminal. After the completion of the input operation of the credit card information, enciphering processing of the credit card information inputted by the key operation is started.
