PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress increase in rated current, improve the characteristics of usage and enhance energy-saving performance in a showcase having a hot/ cold switchable storage compartment that can be switched to a hot storage use and a cold storage use. SOLUTION: The open showcase 1 comprises a cooling storage compartment 13 and the hot/cold switchable storage compartment 12 capable of being switched to the hot storage use and the cold storage use inside of a heat insulating wall 2. The showcase is further equipped with a cooler 18 for cooling the cooling storage compartment and the hot/cold switchable storage compartment, a heater for heating the hot/cold switchable storage compartment, an evaporation pan for retaining drain water from the cooler, a drain pan heater for heating the drain water in the drain pan, and a controller for controlling the energization of the respective heaters. The controller interrupts the energization of the drain pan heater when the heater for heating the switchable storage compartment is energized.
