PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound eye imaging system that can prevent unnecessary light from being made incident on each imaging block on an image pickup element from the compound eye imaging system. SOLUTION: In the compound eye imaging system being provided with a compound eye optical system 10 consisting of optical blocks 11-1 to 11-25, an image pickup element 12 having image pickup blocks 14-1 to 14-25 that pick up images respectively formed by luminous flux passing through the optical blocks, and a protection glass plate 30 that is placed between the compound eye optical system and the image pickup element, a light shield wall 40 parting paths for each luminous flux from each optical block toward the image pickup blocks is placed between the compound eye optical system and the protection glass plate, the protection glass is provided with light shield covers 610, 620 that shield the unnecessary light from each optical block to other image pickup blocks than a corresponding image pickup block, and a non-image pickup area where image pickup by the unnecessary light passing through the optical passing area formed on the light shield covers provided among the image pickup blocks is not performed.
