PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect interlock on shifting with excellent responsiveness for an automatic transmission shifting by switching an engagement condition with a frictional engagement element for high-speed stage and a frictional engagement element for low-speed stage. SOLUTION: An input shaft torque Tt of a transmission mechanism is estimated and frequency shaping is carried out to eliminate a high frequency component of the input shaft torque Tt. Then, an upper limited value of the frequency- shaped input shaft torque Tt after starting of shfting is calculated. A reference value can be obtained by an expression; reference value = upper limited value +α. The generation of the interlock is determined when the input shaft torque Tt exceeds the reference value.
