The box (10) for electronic equipment includes a main body (24) and a cover (28). A locking element (46) comprising one or two longitudinal rods (92,94) is inserted in the end of the casing in order to fasten together the cover and main body of the box. The box (10) for electronic equipment includes a main body (24) with at least part of the top being open, and a cover (28) completing the closure of the box. The cover includes at least one hook (40) which extends down from the inner surface of the cover. Guide elements (44) are provided on the internal surface of the base to locate the position of the hook(s). When the cover is in position on top of the base, a locking element (46) comprising one or two longitudinal rods (92,94) is inserted in the end of the casing. This engages the ends of the hooks and retains them adjacent to the guide elements. Within the box there is also provision for the locking element to be secured in the inserted position such that the cover is locked in position.
