PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a consistence of image on an organic EL element. SOLUTION: A current made to flow across the anode and cathode of an organic EL element 10 arranged for each light emitting pixel of a display panel is limited according to the modes of a device such as a still image display mode and a device standby mode. That can be realized by a process of lowering the contrast and luminance of display data than those at normal time, and an alternation of an element power source voltage (anode/cathode voltage) and a holding capacitance voltage Vsc of pixels from those at normal time, or the like. Or, the element 10 is biased in reverse across the anode and the cathode. Such processes can suppress accumulation of unnecessary electric charges among the elements and can also enhance discharging of the charges, and can prevent consistence of image in the organic EL elements. |
