PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilating apparatus capable of being opened and closed with slide operation of an operation thumb, and the required space for installation of a mechanism for the opening and closing can be more narrowed as compared with the prior art, and further a vent port can be automatically closed in case of a fire. SOLUTION: An opening/closing actuation 13 is supported rotatably with respect to a body 11 in which a vent port 11d is formed, and a slide plate 16 is supported on the body 11 freely to slide through a guide plate 15. The slide plate 16 is adapted to slide with the operation of an operation thumb 16d, and a groove cam 17 is integrally formed to rotate the opening/closing actuation plate 13 with the operation of the operation thumb 16d in corporation with a cam follower 17b mounted on the opening/closing actuation plate 13 to open and close the vent port 11d. The guide plate 15 is energized in one direction with the aid of a resilient member 14, and is mounted on the body 11 with a temperature fuse H, whereby the guide plate 15 is moved in the direction of the energization by the resilient member 14 together with the slide plate 16 upon cutting the temperature fuse H to forcedly bring the opening/ closing actuation plate 13 into a closed state.
