A flat-tube heat exchanger, e.g., a cross-flow coller, has rows of flat tubes extending between the end headers, each tube contg. a turbulence producer. Each tube is built from who plates, the edges of the one plate being bent right round and sealed onto the edges of the other plate. The turbulence producer is clamped between the plates. The headers are made up from short lengths of pipe extending transversely from one flat tube to the next, with turned-out rims from the corresponding holes in the flat tubes engaging the ends of these short pipe lengths. All joints are soldered.
|
