When divided e-mails received by a mobile telephone and stored in a mail memory unit (MM) are deleted, replied or transferred, a control unit (12a) decides, on the basis of the registered contents of a divided e-mail processing table (DMT), whether to handle each of the divided e-mails as one e-mail or to gather all the related divided e-mails and to handle them as one e-mail. The control unit (12a) executes the treatment on the basis of that decision.
