PURPOSE: Obstacle passage determining apparatus and method are provided to increase the driving safety and convenience of a driver by determining whether or not a vehicle is allowed to pass through a narrow road or obstacles using images taken by a plurality of cameras, and informing the driver of such determined result. CONSTITUTION: An obstacle passage determining apparatus comprises a plurality of cameras, an electronic control unit and an alarm lamp. The plurality of cameras are provided in a vehicle. Images taken by the cameras and traveling distance measured by a distance measuring unit are inputted to the electronic control unit(200). Then, the electronic control unit determines whether or not the vehicle is allowed to pass through obstacles. If the electronic control unit determines that the vehicle does not pass through the obstacles, the alarm lamp is turned on.
