PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose an auxiliary stairway manufactured at a low cost, easily installed and allowing the aged and the handicapped who can walk independently to a certain extent, to go up and down the stairs with a sense of security without missing their steps. SOLUTION: This auxiliary stairway can be installed at an existing stairway 2, lowering the rise 22. The auxiliary stairway is composed of frame bodies 1 of box shape connectable in order or plates 25 formed in Z-shape, and is adjustable to the front-to-rear width of the stairway.
