PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holder for a cleaning article which can facilitate the attachment of the cleaning article and also hold it securely to prevent its dislocation when using the holder. SOLUTION: This holder 10 has a fitting portion 2 inserted into a holding space 23a of a cleaning article 20, a step surface 2b is provided on the side of a base at the lower surface of the fitting portion 2, and the step surface 2b is provided with an engaging means 5 having numerous projections 6. When pressing the cleaning article 20 onto a surface 30 to be cleaned by the fitting portion 2, the projections 6 bite into the upper surface of a wiping sheet 21 of the cleaning article 20 to securely hold the cleaning article 20. Further, when using it the engaging means 5 is pressed on the wiping sheet 21 to prevent the dislocation of the holder 10 and the cleaning article 20.
