PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To tie old newspapers or the like crosswise simply and quickly using a single string without preparing two strings. SOLUTION: In order to tie old newspapers N or the like crosswise, an initial end s1 and a terminal end s2 of a single string S are fixed to one of sidewalls 2 of a box C. The string is placed on an internal surface of one of opposite sidewalls and on an upper surface of a bottom 1. The string is also placed on an internal surface of the other sidewall and the upper surface of the bottom, and the string is intersected at the center of the upper surface of the bottom. Further, the string is hooked on a lower hook 6 formed on the bottom located in a window 4, and also hooked on an upper hook 8 provided on an upper part of an external surface of the sidewall. The string is placed to extend along upper parts of external surfaces of opposite corners c1 and c2.
