PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording medium suitable for an area gradation capable of improving, resolution, gradation expressing suitability by the area gradation, durability of transferred image, foil cuttability of a transfer recording layer, and optical density of the transferred image. SOLUTION: The thermal transfer recording medium comprises a support, and a plurality of colors of thermal transfer recording layers repeatedly provided at respective colors along a longitudinal direction of the support. The recording layer contains a coloring dye, an amorphous organic polymer and fine particles. A thickness of the one or more color thermal transfer recording layers of the plurality of colors of the thermal transfer recording layers is thicker than that of another color of the thermal transfer recording layer. A means layer thickness of the recording layers of the colors except the recording layer of the color to be finally transferred of the plurality of colors of the recording layers to be sequentially transferred is 0.6 μm or less. |
