PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a mold capable of manufacturing a transparent substrate having a good light characteristic and a method for producing the mold. SOLUTION: One mold flat part 33 having a prescribed width is formed by performing a cutting work of one time (i.e., without performing crossfeed of a cutting tool 40) for the cutting object parts 35 of the mold 30 corresponding to the flat part of a transparent substrate. The one mold flat part 33 is formed by cutting work of one time and a step having such a fear is not generated that the step is caused in a conventional technique, in which the cutting tool is moved at plural times and cutting work is performed to obtain the one mold flat part. When the transparent substrate is manufactured by using the mold 30 free from the step in the mold flat part 33, the step is not formed in the flat part of the transparent substrate and precision of the surface is excellent. Therefore, a light reflection pattern of the transparent substrate is made to good precision and scattering and loss of light are not caused. |
