hole drilling. SUBSTANCE: wedge- deflecting tool is intended to secure deflection of drilled hole from specified direction. It includes body which working surface has shape of longitudinal chute in cross- section. Head part of body has holes for communication with descending tool with use of cut-off members. In tail part of body there is made thread at angle to longitudinal axis of wedge-deflecting tool for communication with shank and body includes axial longitudinal conduit with outlet to its working surface. Longitudinal flats which cross- section presents two chords crossing outside diameter of wedge-deflecting tool are made at distance not less than half-length of wedge-deflecting tool from its tail part are located in symmetry with longitudinal plane of wedge-deflecting tool, on its side surface, beneath longitudinal chute. Angle between flats amounts to 60 deg, in this case axial conduit in body is coupled to above-mentioned flats by means of radial holes and thread of tail part is cut at some angle with longitudinal axis of wedge- deflecting tool. Shank having length up to 1.2 length of wedge-deflecting tool is fixed with the help of thread. Filter with location flange to accommodate location seat installed in hole can be attached to shank. This implementation of wedge-deflecting tool allows its design to be simplified and quality of operation with deflection of shaft of hole in specified direction to be raised at same time.
