PURPOSE: A device for opening and closing working operation part of air conditioner is provided to prevent wrong operation due to careless operation of a user. CONSTITUTION: A device comprises a cover(62); and a moving device(70). The cover forms a front surface of a cabinet(52) and is installed on a front panel(58), with an opening hole(58a) formed to expose a working operation part to outside, to open and close the opening hole. The moving device is installed on the front surface of the cabinet on a part where the cover contacts to move the cover vertically and linearly. The cover has a pair of racks(62a) on a rear side thereof to be engaged with the moving device. The moving device comprises a driving motor(72); a driving gear(74); a first driven gear(76); a second driven gear(78); and a transmission axis(79). The driving gear is axially installed on a rotary axis of the driving motor. The first driven gear is engaged with the driving gear. The second driven gear is driven simultaneously with the first driven gear. The transmission axis connects the first driven gear and the second driven gear.
