PURPOSE: A valve stopping system is provided to cut down expenses by varying a cylinder of an engine according to load condition of the engine with simple structure, and to improve fuel efficiency by reducing pumping loss. CONSTITUTION: A valve stop system is composed of a hydraulic lash adjuster(50) connecting to a cam follower(31) opening a valve(40) by contacting to a cam(20), and having a body(51) and a first oil passage(52); a cylinder head(60) having a second oil passage(61) connected to the first oil passage of the body; a solenoid valve(70) having a piston(72) including a third oil passage(71) connecting an oil drain passage(62) of the cylinder head and the second oil passage; and an ECU(Electronic Control Unit) transmitting a signal to the solenoid valve. The structure is simplified with varying the cylinder of the engine according to engine load, and fuel efficiency is improved by reducing pumping loss.
