PURPOSE: A solenoid valve is provided to switch a passage by opening and closing an inlet port with a push rod of a spool without a compression spring, and to improve endurance by preventing wrong operation from lowering tension of the compression spring. CONSTITUTION: A solenoid valve is composed of a housing(100) having a bore(101), an inlet port(116) connected to the bore, a discharge port(103), and a drain port(105); a ball(120) closing the inlet port by pressure of oil flowing into the inlet port of the housing; an iron core(140) fixed in the bore of the housing; a cylindrical coil(150) arranged around the housing to excite the iron core by applying current; and a spool(130) installed in the bore of the housing, and moved according to excitation of the iron core to open the inlet port by pressing the ball and close the drain port. The inlet port is formed in a plug to close the bore, and a valve seat is formed in the plug to close the inlet port. The inlet port is opened by pressing the ball with a push rod(136) of the spool. Wrong operation is prevented with opening and closing the inlet port by the spool and the solenoid valve.
