APPARATUS FOR PREVENTING SURFACE DEFECTS BY WELDING PROTRUSION OF COLD ROLLED STRIP

PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided to prevent lateral defects of the strip generated by a welded protrusion of a cold rolled strip by inserting a paper liner onto the welded protrusion in the state that a weld part is stopped at a stop position of a tension reel by detecting holes of the weld part using a laser sensor after welding front and back strips. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for preventing surface defects by a welding protrusion of a cold rolled strip comprises a body which is movably installed at a hydraulic cylinder(17); a ball screw(13) which is installed on one side wall surface of the body so that the ball screw(13) is rotated by a motor(16); a support plate(90) which is coupled to ball screw(13) so that the support plate(90) is ascended or descended; a pair of ball screws which are arranged on the upper surface of both ends of the support plate(90) perpendicularly to the ball screw(13); a moving plate which is coupled to the ball screws so that the moving plate is moved by a driving motor(7); a clamp(10) which is installed on one side wall surface of the moving plate so that the clamp(10) is ascended or descended by an air cylinder fixed to the upper part of the moving plate; upper and lower storage boxes(19a,19b) for receiving paper liners which are fixed onto one side surface of the support plate(90); and a hole sensing sensor which is installed at the center of a length direction of the support plate(90) so as to drive the driving motor(7) by sensing holes perforated on the coil.
