PURPOSE: A method for transmitting paging messages in a mobile system is provided so that an RNC(Radio Network Controller) can download the paging messages received from a CN(Core Network) to terminals by paging groups. CONSTITUTION: An RNC receives paging messages through the RANAP(Radio Access Network Application Part) messages transferred from a CN(S1). The RNC searches a paging group table and judges whether a paging group corresponding to each IMSI value exists(S2). If a paging group corresponding to each IMSI value exists, the RNC updates a paging group database in an RRC(Radio Resource Control) layer by paging groups using information fetched from the paging group table(S4). At this moment, the RRC periodically fetches information from the paging group database(S5). Based on the information fetched from the paging group database, the RNC downloads the paging messages to terminals by paging groups. Then the RNC clears the paging group database(S6). |
