PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leakage preventive structure for contaminants in soil which is capable of eliminating the problems with the conventional containment method and barrier well method. SOLUTION: This structure includes discontinuous impervious walls (14) which are built to enclose the circumference of contaminated soil (12) at the circumference of this soil and arrive at hardly water permeable strata, a well (16) which is built in the contaminated soil, and at least one well (20) which is built in surrounding soil (18) on the circumference of the impervious walls. The ground water level in the contaminated soil is maintained at a level lower than the ground water level in the surrounding soil by pumping up of the water from the well (16) in the contaminated soil.
