PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knockout writing utensil which performs the protrusion/retraction of a writing tip part only by a knocking operation and prevents the writing tip part from protruding to hurt clothes and a human body, even when an external force is upreparedly applied to the knocking part during carrying the writing utensil attached to a chest pocket with a clip. SOLUTION: In the knockout writing utensil of such a structure that a rotor provided at the forward end of a knocking bar is rotated by knocking the rear end of a knockout member protruding from the rear end of a barrel and a cam part provided at the motor is engaged with an advancing position and a retreating position in a cam groove formed in the barrel. In this writing utensil, a base part having a clip fitted at a forward position is formed on one of the sides of almost the rear end of the barrel and a slit is formed penetrating the space formed on the inner face side of the clip from the rear end of the base part, is formed at the base part. Further, a lobe is formed jutting out on one of the sides of the knockout member and is inserted into the slit formed at the base part of the barrel. In addition, the lobe penetrates the space part formed on the inner face side of the clip following the advancing action of the knockout member. During the carrying of the writing utensil, the forward end of the lobe is brought into contact with the upper end edge of a pocket, so that the knocking action can be prevented from taking place, even when an outer force is applied to the rear end of the knockout member. |
