PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a softener composition which can impart a high fading- inhibiting effect and a high skin disorder-defending function to both of cotton clothing and chemical fiber clothing. SOLUTION: This softener composition comprises (a) a UV light absorbent having a specific structure and (b) a tertiary amine having an ester group and/or an amide group and two or more 10 to 22C alkyl or alkenyl groups in the molecule or its salt or quaternized product in a specific ratio.
