PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polysubstituted 5,6- dihydropyrid-2-one derivative selectively and in high yield. SOLUTION: This method for producing a dihydropyridone derivative of formula (I) comprises the steps of obtaining a reaction mixture by reaction between a metallacyclopentene of formula (II) and an isocyanate of formula (III) and then making a reaction between the above reaction mixture, an allyl derivative of formula (IV) and a halogen of formula (V) in the presence of a group 4-15 metal compound.
