PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in a setting of a guide means at the tip of a supply rod, an operator is caught at his hand, due to his carelessness, in between the guide means and a guide pin for an electrode. SOLUTION: A smaller diameter rod 27 of the supply rod 16 is so designed as to get into a larger diameter rod 26. When an operator is caught at his hand in between the guide means and the guide pin for the electrode, the smaller rod 27 gets into the larger rod 26 to ease a force acting on the hand to prevent the injury.
