PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block copolymer which is capable of producing an olefin oligomer having high molecular weight from an olefin oligomer obtained by highly controlled thermal decomposition of a polyolefin. SOLUTION: The block copolymer which is obtained by copolymerization of an oligoolefin having both ends maleated and an oligoolefin with both ends having a hydroxyl group and which is represented by the following general formula (1).
