PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack and pinion hydraulic power steering device of drop-in structure capable of reducing the number of part items and man-hour for assembly to prevent the rattling of an output shaft relative to a housing and water leakage. SOLUTION: A pinion housing 21 covering a pinion on the outer periphery of an output shaft 4 is connected to a valve housing 22 covering a hydraulic control valve around the output shaft 4. The inner ring 41a of a rolling bearing 41 supporting the output shaft 4 between the pinion 7 and the hydraulic control valve is fixed to the output shaft 4, and the outer ring 41b thereof is held between the pinion side support part 44 of the pinion housing 21 and a valve side support part 45 at the end face of the valve housing 22 through the inner portion 52a of an interposing part 52. The interposing part 52 is formed integrally with the core 51b of an oil seal 51 between the outer periphery of the output shaft 4 and the inner periphery of the valve housing 22. An elastic member 53 adhered to the outer portion 52b of the interposing part 52 is compressingly held by both housing 21 and 22.
