SOLUTION: This vehicular lighting tool has an optical means (a lamp body) 3 having a light source 23 to be rotated by a drive part 11 equipped with a drive source 61. The drive part is provided with a rotational position detecting means (a potentiometer) 36 comprising a base part member 38 and the rotating body 39 rotatable in relation to the base member and outputs a signal corresponding to the rotational position of the rotating body in relation to the base part member. The optical means and the rotating body of the rotational position detecting means are connected through a clutch means (a connection spring) 47.
